Daily Maintenance Tips of Dental Unit

Dental unit is one of the commonly used equipment in oral clinic. It also integrates water, gas and electricity, so routine maintenance is particularly important for its service life, integrity of accessories and early detection of equipment failures.

The maintenance method and procedure of dental unit are introduced in details. Before using the dental unit every day, pre-flush the pipes to ensure that the water, gas, electricity and negative pressure required for treatment are ready to provide protection for treatment.

Put on gloves, pick up any phone pipes and turn on the cooling water switch on the dashboard panel. Put the phone tube on top of the spittoon. Increasing air pressure of the pedal from left to right, and holding for at least 10 seconds. Make sure that water and gas eject smoothly from the quick connector on the phone's pipe. Press the automatic chair position and spittoon outlet button to ensure that the dental unit is lifted and the spittoon outlet is normal.

Ⅰ. Wash the dental unit after using it

The dental unit should be cleaned and disinfected after using to prevent the virus from spreading to patients and medical staff through air, water and touch.

Put on gloves, clean the silicone pad under flowing water, and wipe it with a cloth dipped in disinfectant after cleaning. Rinse the tray with running water and wipe it with a cloth dipped in disinfectant. Suck a cup of water in strong and weak places , and clean the pipe. Press the water outlet button, rinse the spittoon until there is no obvious stain, wipe the spittoon and its surroundings with a cloth dipped in disinfectant. Wipe the back of the head, backrest, armrest, seat cushion, instrument panel, auxiliary panel, operating lamp and suction head with a cloth dampened with disinfectant.

Ⅱ. Disinfect the dental unit after working every day

Clean and disinfect all pipes and pipelines of the dental unit before leaving work to prevent the breeding and spread of bacteria and ensure a safe working environment. The strong and weak pipette head is washed with flowing water and sterilized at high temperature. Wipe strong and weak straws in turn with a cloth dipped in disinfectant. Wipe all phone pipes in turn with a cloth dampened with disinfectant. Take out the strong and weak suction filter, wash it with flowing water, and put it back after washing. Remove the spittoon filter and clean it under clean water.

Ⅲ. Clean the dental unit every week

Clean the sewer pipe of the spittoon of the dental unit regularly, keep the sewer unobvious all the time, prevent the breeding of germs, wear gloves, take out the sponge of the gas tank at the bottom of the instrument panel, wring it dry and put it back to the original place. Pull out the outlet rod and open the outlet cover to check if it needs to be wiped. If need to wipe, please dip in the cloth with disinfectant wipe back to the original place, counterclockwise twist open the spittoon. Rinse the bottom of the spittoon under running clean water until the bottom is clean. Use tweezers to grab a cloth stained with disinfectant and wipe the spittoon holder. Return the sputum clockwise.

Ⅳ. Check the dental unit every month

Check whether the accessories of the dental unit are damaged or need to be cleaned regularly. Put on the gloves, remove the device support, and check whether the device support needs to be wiped.

If you need to wipe, please wipe with a cloth dipped in disinfectant and put it back to the original place. Open the rear cover of the side box outward. Lift the garbage collection can and check whether the touch switch works. Remove the waste collection tank and wash it in running water. Return to the waste collection tank. Install rear cover of side box.
